Alcides Benavente Ponce, MA
Expert in Sustainable Development Projects with Latin America, Keynote Speaker and Trainer
Meet Alcides, the Founder of the Lateinamerikanisches Akademisches Kulturzentrum (LAK) advancing academic studies, cultural exchange, and commercial relations between Latin America and Europe. An economist with extensive experience in NGOs, international organizations, and multinational companies across Latin America and Europe, he is also a researcher and speaker on multidisciplinary topics. He holds a Master’s degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Vienna.
With a background in Peru, Alcides has worked on various projects with NGOs and institutions focused on SME development and training. His experience includes roles in the public sector with the Ministry of Education and FONCODES, managing projects in Cusco and Lima.
Alcides has over 12 years of experience with multinational companies in Germany, Switzerland,
Slovakia, and Austria, specializing in logistics, sales, and international distribution, primarily promoting business development with Latin America. He has also worked with international organizations such as the IAEA and UNIDO, advancing sustainable development projects in Latin America.
In Europe, he has been active as President and Advisory Council member of the Peruanos en el
Exterior (PEX) in Austria, promoting Peruvian culture and tourism. Additionally, he has contributed to independent journalism on Latin American issues, particularly Peru, with articles and interviews in Austria’s leading newspaper, DerStandard, and as a radio moderator on Orange 94FM’s Latin American program in Vienna.
Alcides is deeply interested in the economic, political, and social realities of Latin America. He is an economic and political analyst, author of a book on governance and political representation in Peru, and an international speaker on social, economic, and business topics at the University of Vienna and other institutions like Latinomics.
